We develop comprehensive campaigns based on the author’s time and budget. Every project involves pitching magazines, newspapers, radio and TV, and bloggers who review books. We also do media training and arrange book signings, speeches, and special events. We have help promote over 84 books.
Social media has value but can be very time consuming. We recommend that authors do that themselves, but we have affiliates who can help them.
We specialize in non-fiction books, but also represent authors of novels and books on art, photography, and other topics if we determine they have marketing potential.
Authors hire us directly or negotiate with their publishers to cover our fees and expenses. We work closely with publishers’ in-house publicity departments to supplement their efforts and to avoid duplication.
A typical campaign is conducted over three months, but we work with some clients for six to eight months. We do not require a contract, only a letter of agreement.
We are dedicated to our clients and are persistent in contacting and following up with the media. We never promote more than two authors at time.
An author himself, agency founder Jim O'Connor shares his invaluable first-hand experiences that include appearances on over 100 TV shows and interviews by hundreds of publications and radio stations in seven countries.
The ultimate goal is to sell books, but publicity also enhances an author's reputation as a writer and as an expert on his or her topic. Favorable publicity influences literary agents and publishers to be more receptive to the author's subsequent books. Our authors also enjoy the exhilarating feeling that emanates from positive book reviews, feature stories, and interviews on radio and TV.
